Application of EB Curing in Tobacco Packaging in China

Abstract: China has the largest population for tobacco consumption in the world and the market for tobacco packaging is over multi billion dollars per year. As a state-owned enterprise， the tobacco industry settles various standards for every materials used for tobacco including packaging materials and chemicals such as inks and OPV’s. EB curing is regarded as the newest and the most advanced methods in the field not only because its advantage in environment concerns, energy saving and efficiency but also its safety standard of the treated products. This presentation reports the first industrial trial of EB curing application for tobacco packaging in China. Comparison with different other currently used technologies is presented to illustrate the potential of EB curing for China tobacco industry in the future..
